• I can’t pass app review. I Passed the first steps, I did the business verification and then review team made me go to step 1 again, stating that there is a problem again with my ‘publish_pages’ permission.

    Allowed Usage
Allow app users to explicitly publish content from your app to any of the Facebook Pages they manage from within a custom composer.

Seamlessly like and comment from your app on behalf of the Pages app users manage.

    Disallowed Usage
X – Automatically publish stories without app users being aware or having control.

X – Pre-filling the messages of Posts with content the app user or business didn’t create.

How can I overcome this? Is appreview mandatory for the app to work? Don’t offer my the paid service solution, I already know about this and I don’t want to do it.

    Thanks

  • If the publish_pages permission is rejected because of pre-filled texts(this is the common reason in most of the cases seen so far) then you should submit your screencast with posting method shared a link/Attach your blog post without any message content (Read more here : https://developers.facebook.com/docs/apps/review/prefill/).
For this set the message format empty in the settings page. And also remove pre-filled text/message related words from the steps you provided in the submission note of publish_pages.
If the issue is not related to pre-filled messages ,then please provide as the reviewer’s feedback regarding the rejection of the permission.
    Hope this helps.
    Thank you.

Ok, I passed app review but now I see a message when I click Re-authorize that says:

Invalid Scopes: user_photos. This message is only shown to developers. Users of your app will ignore these permissions if present. Please read the documentation for valid permissions at: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/facebook-login/permissions

    How can I solve this?

Can I keep my app forever in development mode so I can have all the permissions? What’s the problem with this?

    I’m sorry for this.
This permission is no longer required,we will correct this in the upcoming release.
If you can edit the plugin file, please remove user_photos, from the file authorization.php(…plugins/social-media-auto-publish/admin/) at line number 31.
