• Resolved manndmd

    (@manndmd)

Using the twentythirteen theme and WP 3.8, when someone tries to post a comment they get this:

Unable to resolve the server’s DNS address.

I moved the site to DreamHost a few months ago and everything works.

Here is the site if you want to test it:

    https://www.epstudiossoftware.com

    Thanks,
    David

I should say everything ELSE works.

    Comments don’t work.

When I tried to leave a comment, I got this in FF:

Firefox can’t find the server at https://www.epstudiossoftware.dreamhosters.com.

Looks like you are using JetPack comments? What if you turn off JP comments?

the link should be epstudiossoftware.com, not epstudiossoftware.dreamhosters.com.

    I will grep for dreamhosters.com

I’m not sure how to turn off JP comments.

    Thanks.

    Fixed it.

I disconnected from WordPress.com via Jetpack and then reconnected. I think it was connected to my old blog site still.

    Thanks for your suggestion!

EDIT – cross-posted with you – AWESOME that did it!

    epstudiossoftware.dreamhosters.com

That’s usually a temporary domain when you first set up your site, I think. Looks like you just updated or moved this?

Yes, and I thought I had it all working, but apparently JetPack was still glommed on to the temporary address.

One side effect of this maneuver is that I lost all my site stats. They were apparently being stored in the temporary blog site. Worth it though to fix the problem.

Ah, but the JetPack support team can VERY likely fix that for you! Just post a thread on their forum with your site URL’s and they’ll do their magic –
