Can’t post photo

  • OK, I’ve looked all over and can’t seem to get an answer to what I’m doing wrong, but I’m assuming I must be overlooking something simple.

    Under the Write Post Section I uploaded a photo (.jpg). It uploads fine (I can see the photo if I go directly to that page), although it does not show me the thumbnail, just the photo name. I click on the photo name and then “Send to Editor”. The problem is all this does is put the photo name in my post, it does not publish the actual photo. I tried thumbnail and original size. What am I missing?

    I’m totally new to all this web admin stuff and WordPress. I’m using the Letterhead 1.0 theme right now.

    Mozilla Firefox…

    Running any adblock or javascript block type Firefox extensions?

    You might want to try this with IE just to help determine if this is a browser or server issue (or a clean install of Firefox with no extensions).

    IE doesn’t work either. However, I’ve been playing with it some more and it looks like if I use the insert image button and then fill in the location for the image, it will insert the photo…kind of a pain because then I have to get the location of the photo first, but it’ll work…

    Yeah, that’s definitely not working properly.

    Not sure what to suggest though. I wonder if it is a GD issue with your host. Or maybe your WP install isn’t quite right.

    Let’s hope a brighter helper wanders by ??

    Let me make one revision…the insert image button works in IE only…even that doesn’t seem to work in Firefox. I haven’t added any extenstions or anything to Firefox though, just the basic installation…

    Since you are self-admittedly new to WordPress and web admin, why not make it easier on yourself. Download and install the Image Manager plugin from https://soderlind.no/ImageManager . This will help you insert a photo in any way you choose and is much more like inserting a photo into a word processor.
