I’ve closely followed this howto by XYZscripts but I’m stuck after creating the test app.

    1) Facebook does not allow me to ask for pages_read_engagement and pages_manage_posts before I make a successful API call.

    2) I can successfully authorize SMAP plugin with the test app but I can not see my page in the “Select facebook pages for auto publish” box. Because of this, I can not use the test app and make a screencast.

What am I missing? Thank you!

  • Have you selected all the pages in your Facebook Login flow ?

If not, please visit ?https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools&ref=settings??and remove your test app. Afterward, reauthorize from the plugin settings section. Ensure that the pages are selected during the authorization flow, as illustrated at https://help.xyzscripts.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/2_fb.png.

For more information, please refer to:  https://help.xyzscripts.com/docs/social-media-auto-publish/faq/how-can-i-create-facebook-application/

Additionally, if this is your own app and you only intend to auto-post to your own pages, you don’t need to go through the app review process. Simply having standard access for the permissions and setting the app to live mode should suffice.

Thank you, this worked. Thanks a lot for your reply.
Now I’m facing another problem. In the “Select facebook pages for auto publish” box I can see some of my pages, but no all (and not the one that I’m setting this up for). Two older pages appear, the new does not.

I am absolutelly certain that I have ticked “All pages” in the API verification process. I’ve also deleted the old app and created new but with the same result.

How to fix this? Is it somehow connected to the page setting?

    Hello ,
Were the pages listed in the Facebook authorization flow? Also, are they listed under https://www.facebook.com/pages/?category=your_pages&ref=bookmarks . If listed, they should display under the “Pages” section.
Please retry the authorization process and let us know if the issue persists.
