After uppdating to the the latest version of this plug in is not possible to connect it to the facebook page and make it sync products again! Like some other in this forum is not possible tol connect to the right page, i can only select the other pages, not the one that should sync with woocommerce.

Its not even possible to select the page, its blurred.

I have checked my permission settings, its correct and it was possible for me to do this before. I have not changed anything.

    Pixel is correct.

The permisson settings on the pages i can connect to is the same as the one i should connet to. Realy anoying.

  • Hi @snutt,

Thanks for reaching out. Happy to help you with this!

I’m sorry to hear that the plugin is not connecting to the correct page. We’ve reached out to the Facebook team for some additional clarity here.

In the meantime, would you please share a little bit more about how this page was created? Was it created by the same Business Manager account that you are using to connect, or is it shared with you by another account?

    Thanks,
    Marcus

    Hi @snutt,

Thank you for the update here. We’re still awaiting some clarity from Facebook about this.

In the meantime, would you please double-check the permissions for this page? Or, if the other account created it, they may need to ensure that you have admin permissions.

If that doesn’t work, it’s possible that they will need to use their account to connect the page to the site.

Looking forward to hearing more about your findings here.

    Thanks,
    Marcus

    Yes, i have admin permissions.

Problem is that i helped them to do this connection from my account because they found it to complicated to do it themselves. They never gonna manage do this connection with the plug in themselves from their account. So if that is the only alternative to solve it, we unfortunately have to remove the Plug-in.

    Hi @snutt,

Thank you for keeping me updated here. The permissions for this setup can be a bit tricky, so your best bet is likely to try connecting using their account. I might recommend setting up a screen share session, if possible, to help walk them through it? That being said, as long as the permissions are correct on their end, they should be able to step through the setup process without too much difficulty.

I’m sorry I don’t have better news here. Would you please give that a try and let me know if that works for you?

    Thanks,
    Marcus

Well i’m having the administrator access and have permission to do everything on the page so its not very tricky if you ask me.. The owner of the site has the same permissions as i have.

At you 100% sure its going to work if the owner of the page doing the connection from his account? I need to know because i won’t spend time and also taking the owners time if not sure its going to work in the end…

We rather wait until you have a solution that works. (I see a lot of users having the same issue in the support forum..)

Is it possible to roll back to a previus working version of the plug-in?

    Hi @snutt,

Thank you for your feedback here. The page does need to be owned by the Business Manager that you are using and will not work by simply having administrative access.

I’m afraid this is not decided by the plugin, rather by Facebook and their design of the Facebook Business Extension. I might recommend reaching out to them directly to find out more.

Of course, you’re always welcome to roll back to version 1.11.4 by downloading it on www.ads-software.com here:
    https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/facebook-for-woocommerce.1.11.4.zip

Would you please let me know if this is helpful and if there’s anything else I can help with?

    Thanks,
    Marcus

    Hi,
when i roll back to the 1.11.4 version the catalouge is connected and syncing again just like before. Unfortunately the old version makes the wordpress site a lot slower when logged in on the page.

I just don’t get it can be something decided by Facebook and Business extension when i can manage everything with the old version of the plugin installed, but not the latest one?

    Hi @snutt,

Thank you for your reply. I definitely understand where you are coming from here!

The difference lies in the Facebook Business Extension (FBE) with which the plugin is connecting to Facebook. In version 1.x of the plugin, the version of the FBE that was being used was also FBE v1. In version 2.x of the plugin, the FBE version has also been updated to v2, which is more performant and more business-focused. (For example: FBE v1 allowed you to only connect a personal ad pixel, where FBE v2 only works with business pixels.)

If version 1.11.4 is working for you, you’re certainly welcome to stick with it. However, it will no longer be maintained, as version 2.x is the latest and will continue to be improved and have new features.

Are there any other questions I can answer for you? Please don’t hesitate to let me know.

    Thanks,
    Marcus
