    Hi everyone!

I got all of the sudden a GDPR pop-up that is not responsive, has very stiff text and overall does not fit to the blog’s design and tone. I want to either remove it (and add my very own) or edit it and make it responsive.

The problem is I don’t know where it came from! I deactivated ALL the plug-ins and it’s still there. I tried in different browsers, cleared cookies, cache, etc… bastard is still there…

I have a “Privacy” tab under Settings in WordPress, so my guess was it’s something default from WordPress? The tab is there even after I disabled all plug-ins.

I’ll try to add some print screens as well.

Do you have this weird, annoying pop-up as well? How can I get rid of it?

    Thanks a lot!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I’m not able to see it. Probably because I’m not in the EU. Are you able to share a screenshot of what it looks like?

    Sure.

    Here: pop-up

And here is the Privacy section under Settings, no edit button, but the option to set the privacy policy page. Privacy under Settings

WordPress does not have the phrase “GDPR” anywhere in it. That pop up comes from a plugin, or a theme, or something else on your site. It is not a part of WordPress itself.

Well, since I disabled all plug-ins and it was still there it means it’s from the theme?

I can’t find any option to control it. Should I contact the developers?

@ edit: I changed the theme and the pop-up is gone, but the Privacy under Settings is still there. I’m confused now.

The Privacy Settings is part of WordPress. It allows the site owner to define a page that contains their privacy policy so that other functions in WordPress, such as the comments form, can link to it. It has nothing to do with this pop-up.
