• Hi,

    I’m using this plugin on my multisite network, and the settings are modified from the main site on the network. I have checked, and Multisite settings are set to Global, however, when I remove the “Support” tab under the “Guttenburg” menu item (in the main site), I have one subsite that remains unaffected by this.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    James.

    The plugin has a debugging feature that could help figure out why that’s happening. To enable it, please go to the “Settings” tab, scroll down to the “Debugging” section and check this box:
    “Show menu access checks performed by the plugin on every admin page”

    This will make the plugin display a bunch of information about the current user, current menu item and the menu configuration. Note that every logged-in user can see this information, so it’s best not to keep this feature enabled for longer than necessary.

    Then go to the subsite that has the problem and click the “Support” item. What does the debug output say? Often, it can provide clues about why the menu item is visible. For example, it could be that the menu URL doesn’t match the expected URL, or that the logged-in user has a different role on that particular site.

    Please post the output here (edit the site URLs if necessary).

    Hi,

    Is this what you need:

    Admin Menu Editor security log
    Current user can edit the admin menu.
    Current URL: “https://quicklaunch.llamapress.com/preston-pa-services/wp-admin/”
    The current menu item is “Home”, menu template ID: “index.php>index.php”
    ===============================================================================
    Figuring out what capability the user will need to access this item…
    —–
    Required capability: read. User HAS this capability.
    No “extra capability” set.
    Final capability setting: read
    ===============================================================================
    The current user has the “read” capability.
    ALLOW access.

    I’m not sure what you meant by ‘click the “Support” item’, I can’t see this, but I can see the information outputted at the top of every admin page.

    Thanks.

    That’s the correct section, but it looks like it’s from the “Dashboard -> Home” page, not a “Support” menu. The output is slightly different on every page.

    I’m not sure what you meant by ‘click the “Support” item’, I can’t see this […]

    Your first post said that you tried to “remove the “Support” tab under the “Guttenburg” menu”. I thought that meant there was an admin menu item called “Support” that you wanted to hide. That’s the item that I’d like you to click (on the subsite that’s unaffected by your changes). If I’ve misunderstood, please clarify what you’re trying to remove.

    Oh, sorry, I miss-understood.

    The “Support” link in the navigation points to an external URL https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/gutenberg. It is under the Gutenburg menu item.

    Thanks,
    James.

    Thank you for the clarification. Since it’s an external link, the debugging feature won’t work in this case – it only works with links to admin pages.

    I did a little bit of testing with Gutenberg 7.1.0 and I was able to hide the “Support” menu without issue. I also checked the part of Gutenberg code that creates Gutenberg’s admin menus and didn’t see anything obvious that would prevent that menu from being hidden.

    Could you perhaps tell me a bit more about your configuration? For example, what capability settings are you using for the “Support” menu item?
