• I am helping a client with his WordPress website, built on 2010 Weaver theme, and the publisher is no longer active. The problem is on the front page, where there used to be a long page of text that could be scrolled, now all of the sudden there is a “Read More” link, cutting off most of the remaining content on the page. When you click on the “Read More” link, it just goes back to the same page you are on, without expanding to reveal the remaining content.

On the editing screen for the page, there is no command or code in the text to add this. I searched through all of the theme settings, thinking there could have been something inadvertently checked/unchecked that would cause this “Read More” link to be inserted, but could not find anything. Maybe one of the PHP files needs to be edited, but if so, I’m not sure which one or what the command would be.

    The URL is https://www.totalhealthfx.com.

    Any suggestions? Thank you.

You might consider changing to a more modern theme. This one is the most recent version by the same developer and is currently supported.

An older version which is probably more compatible and still has forum support is this one.

It doesn’t look the the 2010 Weaver theme is still being supported and that’s generally a good sign it’s time to move on. Older themes aren’t responsive, and they may be open to security loopholes that can be exploited.

Thank you Matt, that is good advice and will definitely be implemented in the near future. In the more immediate future however, does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of the “Read More” link that is showing up?
