    Hi all,

I’m struggling to restore a backup of a WordPress install to a new domain.

I had a reseller account with my host & several domains. I wanted to change the domain that was the “reseller” domain, so to speak (from naughtyjukeboxrecords.com to sheffwebservices.co.uk).

To do this I had to backup my site as it would be lost apparently when they had to change the sites over. ** I DID A FULL/COMPLETE CPANEL BACKUP ** which left me with one compressed file containing all of my site.

Now, when I returned to sheffwebservices.co.uk the user name for ftp/cpanel is still the same as previous site – affecting mysql database name prefixes.

I uploaded the public_html folder no problem.

I am now struggling to restore the database, despite following standard instructions.

I have edited details in the config.php file to match the new database name etc but if you visit https://www.sheffwebservices.co.uk you will see the result isn’t great.

Can anyone advise me here as to where I have gone wrong and what I need to do to make this work?

    Best,
    Danny

  • Did you change the WordPress and Site URLs in the config? You will probably need to change them using phpMyAdmin.

Check the home and siteurl values in the wp_options table.

    Fixed it for you.

problem was resided in wp-config file
