• I’ve been trying to save changes to my theme settings page via my WP Admin Dashboard and have been unable to for the last 24 hours. My web host says it is a scripting error and unrelated to the server. This particular page has always given me a problem and loads very, very slowly but now it’s not loading at all (it takes a long long time and then gives me an Internal Server Error, which my web host is claiming is a scripting error and not a hosting error). Any advice on how to fix this? Is there just too much info on that one page? Can I make changes to my theme settings in the server control panel instead of being dependent on the WP Admin Dashboard?

Here is the code for the settings.php page:

    hmmm…weird reply
3 million downloads with a scripting error?
I think not or every user would have your problem
try deactivating all plugins and test

Hi guys, i’m new to the forum. How do you post an original question? I’m sorry for posting on this question like this.

Secondly, how could you remove the little “WordPress” logo on the bottom right of the footer.php and instead insert your own logo?

    Thanks, and sorry again.

I deactivated my plugins but it did not solve the problem. Any other ideas? Why would only one page give me problems…doesn’t make sense to me.

maybe a bad file – you could upload a fresh one
sounds more like a server error, though

My host ran all sorts of test on my database, etc. and said there was no problem on their end. I am going to have to test the plugin again. That’s the only thing I changed on that file between yesterday and today.

Well I deactivated all the plugins again and took out the extra code I had placed in the settings.php but it did not change anything. Can anyone think of any other reason why this could be happening? This sucks, I can’t change my theme settings!

I called my dsl service provider. They say my download speed for my modem is 1.4 mb – could that be the problem? It’s ONLY changes to the theme settings page that I am unable to save. I called my web host several times and they keep insisting everything is fine on their end. The theme developer is no longer offering support. Do I have any other options to fix this??

If not, is there a way for me to remove the theme settings page on the front end of my WP Admin and just hard code the settings so I can do it direct through my file manager instead of going through WP Admin panel? Basically, I need to know how to make the default settings the displayed settings and disable the theme settings options. Then I can just change the default settings on the php file. If someone could walk me through that, it would be much appreciated. Hope I have explained it clearly enough. Thank you!

I tried deactivating all my plugins, I also tried uploading the original theme settings.php file. Neither had any affect on the problem. Can someone help me figure out how to fix this issue? I cannot change any of my theme settings and I really need to. Help!!
