Can’t search for strings with single quotes

We have Search & Filter free installed on a site. We have a custom post with a title that includes: Brent’s

When we enter “brent’s” in the search box for Search & Filter, the plugin does not find any posts and the search field has the term brent%27s

The url includes: /?s=brent%2527s

This doesn’t show any results. Seems the plugin is doing something incorrect with the single quote. Shouldn’t it be: /?s=brent%27s

This works and does return the listing.
