    I am unable to view user comments on my posts. Please advise.

    In addition, I only want to see blurbs of posts on the homepage, not the full page. How can I make this happen?

    Thanks,
    Lisa

    Hi Lisa,

    are you sure that you have enabled comments in your WordPress dashboard under “Settings => Discussion”? This also might be helpful: Comments in WordPress.

    If you want to display excerpts instead of the full content, you could use the more-tag:

    <!--more-->

    Thanks for your reply. Everything in Settings looks good and they still do not display. is there anything else that can be done?

    If you enable comments in the settings, this will only affect new posts and not posts that already have been published. Have you also checked previously published posts and ensured that comments for these posts are enabled as well?

    From what I can tell comments are enabled everywhere. The bottom of a post with a comment says, “2 thoughts on …” but does not display the 2 comments. In the comments tab, all comments have been approved.

    There are no current bugs relating to comments on Twenty Sixteen. If you are still experiencing this please do let us know. Perhaps give us some steps and even screenshots of your settings? It would be great to have more information to diagnose.

    I had this issue too, then I realised why. I had “require user to be logged in” checked. When this is checked, for some reasons you *don’t* see the “leave comments” link when logged in as an admin.
