Can't see Dashboard after login

  • I installed through Hostgator and used fantastico.

    When I went to login to WP, I did not get the dashboard, the listing of the WP – Admin index came up.

    I had the same thing earlier in the week and I deleted it and started over and got the same result.

  • Try adding DirectoryIndex index.php index.html index.htm to the top of your WordPress .htaccess file.

    You are way over my head now. Where do I find WordPress .htaccess file?

    If there isn’t an .htaccess file already in your WP folder (and be aware that you may need to re-configure your ftp or file management software to view all files – .htaccess files are often hidden), you will need to create one.
