Although I know for a fact that my colleague had added a keyphrase for a certain page on our website, when I open the Yoast SEO tab (on elementor) I see that it warns me: “There has been no keyphrases set to this page”. And the opposite is also true, when I added a test keyphrase it didn’t show up on his side.

Please note that whenever we want to make any SEO changes we get the following error message:

Unfortunately we cannot save changes to your SEO settings while you are working on a draft of an already-published page. If you want to save your SEO changes, make sure to click 'Update', or wait to make your SEO changes until you are ready to update the page.

Can anyone please help resolve this issue it has been going on for a month now.

    Hello,

We have addressed your concerns below:

    No keyphrase
We understand that you and your colleagues have added keyphrases but you get the feedback that there are none. Well, there are some special cases where our plugin isn’t able to detect the keyphrase. The HTML code for images, styles, iframe, videos may interfere with our page analysis’ ability to identify the first paragraph. We are aware of the issue and are working on a solution. Please, refer to this KB article for more information:?https://kb.yoast.com/kb/warning-focus-keyword-not-in-first-paragraph/.?

Can you please confirm if you are using some page builder for adding your contents??

    Saving changes
It sounds like you are editing Yoast SEO with Elementor, is this correct? Are you not able to click on the ‘Update’ button on the Yoast sidebar as per in this article — https://yoast.com/help/how-to-use-yoast-seo-in-elementor/

    I am using Elementor.
I am able to click on the “Update” button. But the issues I mentioned remain valid in spite of that.

    Hello,

    Thanks for providing more clarification.

The notice you receive is not related to you or your colleague not seeing the keyphrase entered. It just means that saving your changes is not pushed live instantly (live updating). That’s why you need to click ‘Update’ for Yoast SEO to re-scan your content, then the notification disappears.

Now regarding not seeing keyphrase, just to clarify, do you mean that when your colleague adds a keyphrase and save changes then logs out, when you log in, you do not see the focus keyphrase they entered in the focus keyphrase field and vice versa?

Thank you for your help. He added a keyphrase and simply closed the tab without logging out. I did the same. Is logging out an essential step?

    Hello,

Logging out of WordPress admin is recommended. There can be multiple requests that your web-browser sends to the /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php script while you are logged into the WordPress admin dashboard. However, what’s more important is actually saving changes.

If you are sure that changes are saved but you do not see the keyphrase afterwards, do let us know.
