    Hi,

    Regarding the site imonlyhappywhenitravel.com,

1- I can’t seem to see the pictures (of slider, post thumbnais, witihn the posts) on mobile version although on mobile wordpress editor i can see them. They are visible when i visit full site on mobile (android).

2- Content slider arrows don’t appear.

3- I don’t prefer any background image but there’s no space between slider and background i see on the demo.

4- Social profiles widget comes with an “edit” label under. This “edit” also exists under each page. Not sure if it’s due to the previous theme, how can i remove it?

    Thanks in advance.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @imonlyhappywhenitravel

It looks like you have the mobile Jetpack theme active. To turn it off, go into Jetpack > Settings and unselect the option next to “Enable the Jetpack Mobile theme.”

2- Content slider arrows don’t appear.

It doesn’t look like you have any Featured Content set up yet. Make sure you have at least two posts tagged with the same tag you’ve entered in the Customizer’s Featured Content panel, and the slider should appear.

3- I don’t prefer any background image but there’s no space between slider and background i see on the demo.

Could you please clarify what you’re trying to do more precisely?

4- Social profiles widget comes with an “edit” label under. This “edit” also exists under each page. Not sure if it’s due to the previous theme, how can i remove it?

“Edit” links on pages and posts normally only appear to logged-in administrators and other users with edit access to a site. If you look at your site in an incognito window or while logged out, you shouldn’t see them.

    Hi Kathryn,
Thank you so much for your help.
Mobile version turned out to be ok with jetpack off, thanks a bunch!
Sorry, with the arrows, I meant the header section. I organized couple of random pictures, just can’t see the arrows next to them like i do in the demo.
I hadn’t set any background image. So instead i was expecting to see some space around the header image but mine seems to cover the whole width.
I had seen the “edit” links on another device i hadn’t logged in but it seems to have gone now.

The demo shows a site with the Featured Content slider. As I mentioned above, there are several steps to setting that up.

1 – In your Customizer’s Featured Content panel, add a tag like the word featured
2 – Add the same tag to two or more posts you’d like to feature, and make sure each post has a large featured image

The slider (with navigation arrows) should appear.

    Hi there,
Yes, I already have 2 posts with 2 featured images and related tags and that seems to be working fine, doesn’t it? I was wondering the picture(s) above posts, on top of page. They seem to have arrows to pass to next one only, nothing more, no links attached.
I hadn’t set any background image. So instead i was expecting to see some space around the header image but mine seems to cover the whole width. How can I change the width so that the header image and featured images below have the same width? And it’d be great if I could separate the two part perhaps with a line, how can I do that?
    Thanks.

    Hi there,

In Appearance > Customize > Featured Content > Tag Name, what tag did you enter?

Sorry, with the arrows, I meant the header section. I organized couple of random pictures, just can’t see the arrows next to them like i do in the demo.

I think you might be confusing the Featured Posts slider with the random header image feature.

You appear to have multiple images for a random header in Appearance > Customize > Header.

A different image will load each time one of those images is clicked (causing a page reload), but arrows will not appear – it is not a slider.

However, the theme demo does not use that feature. Instead, it uses a Featured Posts Slider. This creates a slider (with arrows) of selected posts.

If you want your site to look like the demo, please follow these steps from the documentation:

To use the post slider, you’ll first need to have some published posts with:

    – a featured Tag of your choice assigned to the posts you’d like to feature
    – a Featured Image (at least 1180px wide) assigned to each of the selected posts

Then, to enable the post slider:

    – Open the Customizer
    – Go to Appearance > Customize > Featured Content > Tag Name
    – Indicate the featured Tag name
    -Save

Thank you Gary & Kathryn. I’ll take a closer at sticky posts and then open a new thread if necessary.

The theme demo does not use sticky posts, it uses a featured posts slider.

If the slider does not work after you have correctly added the tag in the customizer, please let us know.
