Hi, i just encountered a weird problem on WP. I have been having a lot of issues with WP lately and this is the latest.

Few hours back I logged in and saw this –

    https://gyazo.com/c074f5b1ac5c8ddb9c991f3fe8b20e9e
    https://gyazo.com/c663f47237d669c87b4afbab178ed06b

Note that all posts, pages, comments, users etc are ON the site though. check socialvani.com. nothing vanished from there but I can’t see anything in WP backend.

    Changes made before this happened:

SocialVani.com is an addon domain. The main domain is my portfolio site, Chitraparna.org. I added CloudFlare to Chitraparna.org yesterday.

I also created a CRON job and disabled WP Cron in config file…that’s it.

Have been struggling with site loading speed for the past week…CPU usage hits 100% couple of times a day.

Can someone help please? Please explain in easy language. I am not that tech oriented.

    Thanks

    ~ Chitra

  • Have you tried standard trouble shooting steps such as deactivating all plugins, reverting to Twenty Twelve theme, etc? If you cannot do the work at your dashboard, try FTP or hosting control panel.

    Backup your site first.

Yes I have Krishna. I deactivated all plugins but nothing happened. I have just left anti-spam and social author bio plugin activated as I have a lot of verified guest bloggers.

I couldn’t revert to Twenty Twelve theme from dashboard and I don’t know how to do it from hosting control panel.

Site backup is with me…any other alternatives?

Did the cron job do this? I kept the cron job update to once a day because I don’t update the site daily. I post once every 2-3 days. What do you suggest?

You need to revert to Twenty Twelve theme with all plugins off temporarily so that I can have a look at it, if necessary, run a few test tools and you can revert back immediately after that.
If you can login and see the theme options page, you can activate Twenty Twelve from there. If you want to do it through control panel, go to the themes folder and rename the current theme by adding -old so that your site will open using the default theme.

Hi, solved the issues…the database had corrupted and had to manually create everything…site is back on track with the simple twenty twelve theme….

Glad to note that you could resolve the issue! ??
