Can't seem to figure out what to do. [Help needed!]

  • I feel like I have all of the components to start a www.ads-software.com website. I just don’t know exactly what to do. It seems the more I read, the more confused I get. I haven’t my domain name yet because I’m not sure what service to host it from but that won’t be a problem. I was thinking Bluehost just because it’s number one on the recommended sites from wordpress. I’ve downloaded the software as well as filezilla (unless anyone suggests using anything better) and I have a free template that I will be using. It seems (to me at least) that I have that components I need. I’ve read the tutorials but seem to be confused still. Can anyone help me out? I’m very tech savvy, but this seems to be on another level.

  • Start by registering your domain name and obtaining a hosting account. Then see Installing_WordPress.

    If you don’t have a domain/site yet then you don’t have all the components and the instructions wont make much sense with such an important item missing.

    When you register your domain you will be able to do vital things like set up the MySQL database that WordPress needs. With the database username and password (and the FTP username password from your host) you will be able to work through the instructions step by step.
