Hello, I am having trouble installing my wordpress on the local machine, i am getting this error response…

We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the wordpress database.

    Are you sure it exists?
Does the user root have permission to use the wordpress database?
On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress. Could that be the problem?

Please note that i created a database name in mysql called “wordpress”, my username and password are correctly configured in the config.inc.php file as well. i am using the database host as “localhost” since i am running this on my local machine.

i read previous forums on the same topic/issue, but cant seem to get a direct solution to this. What could be the problem? please advise…

Please also note that i get this error when am trying to create the wp-config.php file via the “Create a Configuration File button”

you are getting this error because user have no permissions for this database which you are using. You should check user and database permissions for selected database on your hosting cpanel.
