Can’t select database

  • Hello Internet,

    I’m setting up a new WordPress website with an existed database. I’m successfully import it on phpMyAdmin but when I’m tried to loggin to domain.com/wp-admin it said that I can’t select database with “We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the database.”

    Does anyone know anything about my case?

    Please check these 2 cases. Hope one of them helps.

    1. Please make your database user have permission to access that database.
    2. Your wp-config.php is using the database you want to use in this line.
    define( 'DB_NAME', 'database_name_here' );

    Wow, I’ve resolved it after edit database name in file wp-config.php. Thanks you so much.

    I wonder how the problem started. I would have thought a problem with the account on that database.
