I can’t seem to micromanage the posting to social services feature – Jetpack won’t let me edit the services I have activated. The boxes are there but none are ticked and I can’t select any of them.

I have jet pack installed and connected some of my social sites like linkedin and twitter and I can see them listed in the publish box on my post page but I am unable to select any of the boxes and it seems that all my posts are posted onto all my social sites whether I want them to be posted there or not.

    How do I solve this?

If you can’t edit the Publicize settings for a specific post, it usually means that the post is already published. Since Publicize is only triggered for newly published posts, you won’t have access to those options once a post has been published.

Could you give this a try when looking at a draft? The options should be available.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Jeremy,
your answer helps me to understand what happened on my website. But doesn’t help. As I promote similar activities for libraries, I use a plugin to copy an older post with the same activity again (images, addresses, ..) and it seems that this is the problem that these articles aren’t publiziced. Is there any turn around or thing I can do to change it or do I have to rewrite 30 posts? Sigh.

@bluenight33 That will depend on the plugin you use to clone / duplicate posts. Some plugins include options allowing you not to copy meta data when cloning a post. You would then be leaving behind all the meta data attached to the original post, that tells Publicize that a post has already been publicized.

    Here is an example.

If the plugin doesn’t include such an option, I’d suggest getting in touch with the plugin author; it is indeed possible that no option exists in the dashboard, but meta data can be removed via a filter; that’s how it works for Woocommerce, for example.

Thank you Jeremy, the option is here and marked the way I wanted but somehow it doesn’t work.
I will contact the plugin author and look if there is any other way to solve it.
It was the problem you mentioned in the example and he added the option but it doesn’t work. I will let him know. It just works with adding the line “_wpas_done_all”. That helps for now. (even if I have to duplicate another 40 posts ??
    Thank you!
