Everything was fine. all i did was change my theme, decided i didnt like the way it looked after all and went back to original one, all in a space of about 5 minutes. back on the old theme now, i noticed my paragraphs werent spaced on my pages or posts, so i tried several times – i even copied, deleted, and re-pasted the content back in, and it still wont space the paragraphs anymore when trying to edit.

secondally, i decided to see what was going on by creating a test-temporary fictitious page. To my horror, the words now go straight across the screen without stopping, and its endless…the bottom gray bar just keeps shrinking. the only way I can write or edit anything new now is to keep hitting the enter bar to make the words go down, like it’s supposed to. any thoughts? oh one more thing but i dont think it had anything to do with it, i tried taking a picture off that page and it wouldnt cut or delete for a while but i somehow finally got it off that page. even so i dont think that had anything to do with it since this problem is on ALL pages now, but have to mention it just in case that created a problem?

anyone have this problem before and how do i fix this? Thanks.

  • Temporarily switch to the Twenty Ten default theme and see if you still have the problem.

If you do, try disabling all your plugs and see if you still have the same problem. If you don’t, turn the plugins back on one by one until you find one that creates the problem. (You may find a plugin is not the problem but this has to be tested as its a very common reason for odd behavior.)

Thanks so much stvwlf. I was thinking about what you said all day and temporarily put the twenty ten theme on and shut all my plugins off. then I tweeked the page a little and turned each plugin back on after each tweek. same thing. Then I searched my brain and came up with a thought..since the problem happened after i deleted that picture (that refused to be deleted in the normal way) that it might have something to do with it after all (but I dont know why unless it had a malicious code in it somehow) so I opened that page back up and found the html code from the deleted pic was still there, so I deleted the code. That seemed to do it, then i went back to some other pages to tweek and they are all back to normal. since I deleted the leftover html I now have no idea if it affected the whole site or if it was a page specific problem. If anyone else has experienced this same problem, try what stvwlf suggested and what i suggested, or both options. Wierd. oh well, at least with each problem that comes up, we become better at solving problems for the next hurdle that always seems to pop up. Happy blogging.

    Hi
When you delete an image that does not remove the code WordPress inserted into your posts and pages to display that particular image. So you did the right thing in deleting the HTML that was trying to display that image from the page it had been entered on.

Glad to hear your site is back and running.
