Cant switch back to Visual mode, its stuck in HTML mode!

Go into your profile in the Admin area and uncheck “Disable the visual editor when writing”.

Thank you esmi, but it is unchecked. I cant toggle between Visual and HTML, it remains locked in HTML view. Any ideas?

Disable all plugins.

I just had the same problem. It turns out my blog was hacked. I don’t know if that’s your problem, but I figured I’d mention it.

I’m still working on fixing my blog, but I do have the visual editor back.

I’ve heard of other cases where hacks interfered with Admin javascript functionality, so checking through files on the server would also be a good idea if all else fails.

I finally just had to install a new WordPress version, even though I wasn’t upgrading. It didn’t affect any of my work on the website, but I was very nervous during the process.

I’m going through the same thing. HuskerLiz do you know the reason this happens?

How did you do the new install without having to redo?
