Can't tell what's on or off

So I tried to use the buttons that are used to turn on or off certain features. Nice looking, but totally unintuitive. Is it “ON” if the green “ON” is visible? Or do I flip the switch to cover the green area? But then “OFF” shows.
You really need to make this clear.
