Can’t turn plugin off

  • The plugin worked great while I needed it, but now I need it off so my website will be viewable to the public and it is still activated. Removing password info, unchecking enable, deactivating the plugin, and deleting it has no effect. I stopped it hours ago and it’s still password protecting my site and I can’t get it to stop. Now, I’m faced with the prospect of not being able to disable it. How on earth do I get it to just stop???

    Edit: After several days after turning off the plugin and turning off a cache plugin I hadn’t known was installed, it was finally disabled. Guessing it was the cache plugin that prevented it from disappearing, but still weird that it persisted even days after turning the plugin off.

    Never mind, I discovered a cache plugin I had not known was installed, was installed with my theme. I deactivated it and now the password protected login page is no longer showing up, so I think that was my problem.

    I have already tried, but it won’t let me change it. I’ll explore further, though, to see if I’m missing something.
