• So I finished installing WordPress and I thought everything was working fine, but when I go to write a post, the only thing I can type is the Title. The area to type the actual post is blank and I can’t type anything, its just white space. Please help!

    1) What browser and OS?
    2) Javascript enabled?
    3) Any “protection suites” installed on your computer?
    4) If you visit Users -> Your Profile and UNcheck the top option to use the visual editor, do you see the classic editor?

my browser is IE7 on Windows Vista. I have Norton Antivirus. This is not the first time I have had wordpress on this computer…I had the earlier version this morning only, but because of some issues I decided to reinstall the entire database and such. It is just now after more than a year of wordpress that I am having this problem.

Personally, I would theorize you didn’t do a complete install and suggest that you re-upload it to make sure you get everything.

I came across this problem on one of my clients’ blogs this week, and in her case, it turned out to be a small mismatch between the host (Dreamhost) and WordPress in the blog address.

Dreamhost was set up to always use “www.” before the domain name, but “www.” was missing from the addresses in the WordPress admin panel (“Options” tab). When she added the “www.” into the addresses, the editor started working again.
