I can’t seem to fully uninstall & delete the plugin. I’m getting the error “Plugin could not be deleted due to an error: Could not fully remove the plugin(s) wponlinebackup/wponlinebackup.php.”

I’ve tried deleting via FTP, but it says directory not empty. The directory in question is wponlinebackup/tmp/full

Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi rnewkirk,

Not sure the issue, never known that to happen. Have you tried again? Maybe it was a windows server and some files were still open which are now closed.

Usually deleting via FTP will work. Check your FTP client log for any errors when deleting files. Usually it will try delete a file, error, but then continue and try to delete the directory anyways, thus the directory not empty error. So should be another error before that one that might help find problem.

    Thanks for the reply Jason.
It ended up being a permissions issue on my server end. All is good now – thanks again for the reply

What did you do to fix this? I am having this same issue, and I don’t know what I need to do. I am on Amazon EC2.

I actually got in touch with my hosting co and they changed permissions for me. I wasn’t able to via FTP for some reason, the 777 wouldn’t stick.
After that, I was able to delete and complete the uninstall.
    I am on VPS
