    hi @netz

    I hope you’re well today!

Broken Link Checker is depending on WPMU DEV Dashboard plugin only if you are using the “Cloud” engine. If you are using “Local (old)” engine in Broken Link Checker, you can safely disable and/or remove WPMU DEV Dashboard.

If you are using “Cloud” engine, WPMU DEV Dashboard is necessary in order to provide authorization and access to our API so checker APP on our end could scan the site and check links.

As for update itself: screenshot shows that automatic update is not possible but it doesn’t show any other errors so let me know please

    1) if you try to manually update WPMU DEV Dashboard – it’s also not updating?

    2) Is the WPMU DEV Dashboard currently logged-in to your WPMU DEV account (that is assuming that you do have such account in order to use “Cloud” engine on Broken Link Checker)?

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    Hi @netz

The screenshot that you shared – its from the Hub so from our end. The error depicted there means that it is your site/server that rejects API communication from us.

Not being able to “tick” the plugin inside “normal dash” on the other hand, that suggest some conflict on site that breaks JS.

So at this point I’d suggest trying this:

    1. in the WPMU DEV Dashboard next to the “WPMU DEV Dashboard” on plugin list you should see a little “download” icon – try clicking on that and it should update that plugin only.

    2. if that doesn’t work, simply go to “PLugins -> All plugins” page and see if you ahve update for WPMU DEV Dashboard available there and if yes, try to run it.

    3. make sure to allow our IPs in any firewall that may possibly be active for site (some security plugin on site and/or hosting level firewall and/or CloudFlare if you are using it) and then try update again from The Hub. Here are the IPs to allow:

    https://wpmudev.com/docs/getting-started/wpmu-dev-ip-addresses/

If none of that works, let us know, please.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Adam,
    Thanks for your help.
1: I dont have a WPMU dashboard! in my (local) admin

2: I dont have the plugin on my lists of plugins? It dosn’t show?
So I can see no “Download icon” ??

I can only see the update in my local WP dashboard –> Updates
And there is no way to tick the ticker to get it to update.?

    (@wpmudevsupport11)

    Hi @netz,

1: I dont have a WPMU dashboard! in my (local) admin

By default the WPMU DEV Dashboard will be only visible to one admin user who has installed and activated the plugin and hidden for other admin?users.

Most probably you have more than one admin account, and you are checking on a different admin account where the plugin is?hidden.

Please do check whether the plugin is visible on other admin accounts.

Please check the following docs for more info:

    https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/wpmu-dev-dashboard-plugin-instructions/#permissions
    https://wpmudev.com/docs/getting-started/getting-support/#cant-view-the-wpmu-dev-dashboard-plugin

2: I dont have the plugin on my lists of plugins? It dosn’t show?

If Whitelable feature is enabled under WPMU DEV > Whitelable page then the plugin won’t be visible in the list of the plugins.

Regarding updating the plugins via the Hub, it appears the firewall or Security plugin is blocking the request.

You’ll have to make sure to whitelist the following IPs in the Firewall or Security plugin side to ensure there won’t be any such issue.

    https://wpmudev.com/docs/getting-started/wpmu-dev-ip-addresses/

Please do let us know how that goes.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Nithin,
I appreciate your work and help here … But last night I spend my sleeping time. With disabling all plugins except Broken Link and the WPMUDEV plugin that I could not see….
Nothing got fixed – no trick in the book would … So I deleted the WPMU dir via FTP and delete broken link plugin as well…

    Reinstall and it got fixed!

The I spend small 4 hours checking every setting and plug in settings – Do you know how many plugins drops data and license when they are off for 20 min. ??? It’s insane and bad DB maners ??

No whitelist no whitelabel – just normal – I like the old version better – I feel your dashboard is now another menu item (like 120 others I don’t use nor need) just using my memory ?? – Lets see in time if it was worth it to “Go cloud” ??
Anyway – Case closed – It works!

My shop https://herbalcenter.dk is now running again
    Good night zzzZZZ ZZZzzz
