    Hi there,

Ever since the update to 4.2 I have not been able to update WordPress to version 4.2.1, and I have not been able to update ANY of the plugins.

    Update WordPress
    Downloading update from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/release/wordpress-4.2.1-partial-0.zip…
    Unpacking the update…
    Verifying the unpacked files…
Preparing to install the latest version…
    Enabling Maintenance mode…

And then it gets stuck, refusing to go any further. The same thing with plugins.

    Any assistance or advice?

This change got merged in WordPress 4.2.2

Updating to this version should fix this issue.

Just an word about it. For people saying it is shared hostings servers overload when updating all WP sites at once.

I have problem updating plugins on LOCALHOST, now second installation. Cannot be about “overloaded locahost”.

Needs several refresh, try again and then plugin update goes through.
Noticed goes better if updating only one plugin at once.
    Never had this problems before.

Honestly have no clue why and what is it. I am happy I can update at all. Several days ago had much bigger problems updating core and plugins, so compared to now almost as problem doesnt exist.

wkral, you’re a rock star, thanks! Been stuck with this issue for a month and your solution worked right away.
