can't update facebook page with older blog posts

  • I’ve installed Facebook plugin. The ‘add new’ post is set up so that it looks like when I do my next blog post it will also post to my facebook page. I haven’t posted yet because I would like to update my facebook page with all my previous blog posts. Is that possible? I thought I might be able to go into each post one, ‘edit’ then ‘publish’ and it would simultaneously publish on my facebook page. I’ve tried that but the facebook info now showing on the ‘add new’ posts isn’t showing on the blog posts I’ve already posted. Thanks.

    The Facebook plugin for WordPress publishes once to your Facebook page: when a post transitions from a non-public state (such as draft) to a public state (such as publish).

    Ok, I’m not sure I understand.
    I have been posting on my blog since 1st June. Only recently, i thought it would be a good idea to see if I could post to my blog and have those posts also publish to a facebook page at the same time. So I haven’t yet ‘drafted’ a blog post and then ‘published’ it to both my blog and facebook page. Before I do the first ‘draft’ blog that I then ‘publish’ to my blog and to facebook, I am asking if it is possible to ‘publish’ all of the previous blog posts to facebook before I do the first one with both blog and Facebook plugin working together. Yes, they have all been ‘published’, but only to my blog because I have only recently installed the Facebook plugin. I think I get that you are saying I can only publish ‘once’ to my facebook page but I haven’t done it at all yet.
    As in my original query, is it not possible to ‘unpublish’ blog posts and – now that the Facebook plugin has been installed – ‘publish’ them for the first time to my facebook page, in a sense, bringing my facebook page up to date before I start ‘publishing’ to my blog and facebook page at the same time? Thanks.

    Can someone tell me if it is possible to upload old blog posts to facebook with the ‘Facebook’ plugin? It’s fine if it’s a ‘no’! It just means I can try installing a different plugin.
    If no one knows the answer, can you tell me where else I can ask this question. Thanks.
