Can’t update footer.php

I want to add that this problem showed up only after i did update colormag this morning.
So i guess the error has nothing to do with my host config.

While checking it within our development environment, we could not find any such issue at all which you described and that file too, is not edited within this theme update release. Also, if you edit the theme code then, it will get wiped out on theme update. So, prefer on using child theme: https://themegrill.com/blog/tutorial-creating-wordpress-child-theme/ for the customization work within your site. Hope you are clear on this.

Thank you for the answer.
After checking many possible problems, we found out that the error is due a plugin : https://fr.www.ads-software.com/plugins/check-email/.
This plugin makes editing any php files impossible. After we have deactivated it, everything is alright.
