When trying to update from version 5.10.0 to 5.14.04 in the WordPress plugin dashboard page, I receive the following error:

Update failed: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.

    Hi @brianmcculloh

Are the server permissions on the files/folders set correctly?

I would check with the hosting company.

    Thank you,
    Javed

Thanks for your response. I just updated 14 other plugins and had no issues with any permissions on any of those. This is the only plugin repeatedly giving this error every time I try to update it. Is there another way to go about updating it?

    Hi @brianmcculloh

Sorry to hear about this issue! You can try updating the plugin manually, via our Manual Updates process:
    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/manual-updates/

    I hope that helps!

    Thanks,

Perhaps it’s too big of a jump from 10 to 14. You could delete the plugin, and just install the new version fresh.

You shouldn’t lose any data, as that’s stored in the database, but always a good idea to back things up before doing updates and what-not.

Thanks James. I manually updated it via FTP and all is well.
