    Do you have Westi’s WP beta tester plugin enabled? If so, deactivate it to stop getting prompted for pre-release versions.

    If the update isn’t taking place, you may have success if you deactivate all of your plugins before updating. If that’s no good, you could also try increasing the amount of memory allocated to PHP for WP.

    I’ve had a look at the manual instructions you linked. I’m afraid I don’t think the instructions for a manual upgrade can really be made any less daunting than that.

    I don’t think we have the Westi’s WP beta tester plugin installed but will check that out.

    I’ll follow the actions you suggest and see how we progress.
