Can’t upgrade to WP 5

  • I’ve inherited a site which won’t upgrade to WP 5.
    Using upgrade inside WP it stops,
    I’ve tried manually update after first using All-in-One WP Migration to backup the data, but it won’t restore the data again.
    So. I’ve tried a few times, always having to re-install an older version (4.9.10) to get the site working again.
    It has nothing to do with PHP-versions or anything outside, I have quite a few other sites hosted at the same provider, and those upgraded just fine.
    So, I assume it’s a plugin that does the damage.
    Is any of these plugins known to not be working with WP anymore? These are plugins I don’t have in any of my other sites :

    – All-in-One WP Migration
    – Bad Behavior
    – Code Embed
    – Contact Form DB
    – DB-Toolkit
    – Exports and Reports
    – Joomla 1.5 Importer
    – p2pConverter
    – Theme Preview
    – Theme Switcher
    – WP Form Creator

    Try MANUALLY updating. Download WordPress again and unzip it, and use that to copy up. Access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), and delete then replace your copies of everything on the server EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. (NOTE: do not delete the?wp-content?directory or your?wp-config.php?file). Please read the Manual Update directions first.

    Backup: If you haven’t already done, always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case something really goes wrong. You can never have enough backups!
