Can't upgrade WP software

  • Hi guys, hope i’m writing in the right section.

    I’m trying to upgrade my WP software from version 3.4.2 to version 3.5.1, but I can’t afford automatic update: after choosing “Update Now” i read this writing:

    “Downloading update from https://www.ads-software.com/wordpress-3.5.1-new-bundled.zip…

    Unpacking the update…”

    and then the page stops loading.

    I’m using a free hosting (Byethost) and they say it’s because my account is free.
    But i’ve always upgraded my WP sotfware by automatic update, never a problem occurred.

    Any suggest?

  • It might be something added by your host to “entice” you to upgrade your hosting account?

    I don’t think WP has any limitations… but I know it’s highly suggested to NOT use a free hosting account with WP.

    Do you have FTP access to your site? You might be able to perform a manual update?

    Yeah… maybe… I don’t know, but I think this is the only reasonable explanation

    Sure, I think i can… but automatic upgrade is faster and easier.
