Can’t upload any media files in 4.7.3

    For the most part, I’ve only needed to upload the following file types to my media library:
    .png .jpg .pdf .js

    With version 4.7.2, I could no longer upload any of these file types (which, I gather, was a known issue).

    I updated to version 4.7.3 yesterday and still cannot seem to upload any file types. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Corpsites,

    It looks a similar issue as described in this tutorial on how to solve it. Have a look and give it a go if this is it?

    Unfortunately, this isn’t the issue we’re experiencing.

    To clarify, every time I try to upload a file to the media library, I get a message saying “Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.” I don’t even see a broken image file. Again, these are basic file types that should be allowed (like .JPG or.PNG or .JS, all of which I’ve uploaded to my site for years without incident).

    At first, this problem just seemed to be with .JS files, but now it’s all file types. It’s hard to say exactly when this started happening, but the last file I uploaded was a .PNG file on 2/14/17. All of these problems just came up within the past 2 months when I was operating on 4.7.2. I’ve upgraded to 4.7.3 and the issues persist.

    Have you contacted the hosting provider? It would be a good starting point as this could be to do with permissions or possibly you have used your quota of your web space.
    Please keep in mind I am really trying to help you. This is something I would do if I had this issue.
    let me know what they say.
    .js files are not normally permitted in the media folder, but .pmg are ofcourse
