• I’m trying to upload a Word Perfect document to link it in a post, but upload comes back with “File type does not meet security guidelines. Try another. Back to Image Uploading”

Where are the “security guidelines” and what needs to be done to either add this file type or disable the check?

Hey, thanks! The plugin works… at least for a starting place – that is, it does allow the upload from within WP!

Now, what I ultimately want to do is to set up authors to use BlogDesk and be able to write posts with linked .pdf and other files. There are two ways to upload from BlogDesk – one is the DirectUpload which as far as I can tell uses a lot of this same approach, via xmlrpc… and ftp. The ftp app[roach works fairly well, although there are some setup issues involving users on the server/host machine. I’d much prefer to use the xmlrpc DirectUpload, but so far it chokes on some file types. This may also be a mime issue as well, although the fact that it refuses to send .pdf’s makes me doubtful…

Anyway, progress is made, and I thank you again!
