Hi all I’m quite new to WP but have run into three problems, I hope this is the correct section?

    Ok problem’s

1), When ever I try to upload a custom avatar it does not work I used the Gravatar plug in to upload it. but it just doesent seem to upload even though I have resized the avatar to fit.
    [IMG]https://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d92/Dunk1888/Untitled-2.jpg[/IMG]

2),Same goes for my header, I resized a custom header to fit but when I upload it it just isn’t there.

3). If you look at the first image again in problem one you will see the calander (top right) does not seem to fit into the side bar properly

P.S I’m using the latest version of WordPress and the Simple WP Community Theme 1.6

Errr no I didn’t, I just logged into the old database and uploaded WP again, I thought (till two minutes ago lol) that if I completely deleted the old blog directory then just created a new blog directory before I reinstalled that it would have been ok?

Ok, so now I’m thinking that I have possibly corrupted latest instalation of WordPress and that I now have to delete it again to fix my issues.

So my next question is what is the correct procedure for deletion/installation?

    How do I run wp-admin/install.php?

Before you run install.php, so you want to keep any of your old content? We might be able to (eventually) have all of the content from the old blog on a site that’s in the blog sub-folder instead of blog/wordpress.

No it’s ok, the site has only been up a few days again so there is no content on it really as I’ve spent most of the time trying to add content/images to it lol

As for everything else like themes, plu-ins etc I have saved everything thats installed on the site to my PC, just for occasions like this one, seems to be a wise move already but I didnt think I would need it already.

In that case, just empty the old database and run wp-admin/install.php.

Ok deleting as I type this, so how exactly do I run wp-admin/install.php.

I just entered it https://www.flat-out.eu/wp-admin/install.php into my browser and it brought me back to my main site, which is Joomla based and under construction.

Where is WordPress installed. Isn’t it in your Blog folder? If so, you need to use https://www.flat-out.eu/blog/wp-admin/install.php

https://www.flat-out.eu/blog/wp-admin/install.php Brings me back to my home page on Joomla as well though?

Should I even be copying and pasting that into my browser though? am I doing this wrong perhaps?

From what you’ve told me, that url sounds correct. The problem you have is that Joomla is grabbing the page request before it even reaches WordPress in the blog folder. Can you add anything to Joomla to get it to ignore calls to the blog sub-folder?

    (@ra_dunk)

Not that I know of, would I not get away with unzipping it directly into my blog folder though? would it escape Joomla that way?

You need to upload the contents of the wordpress folder in the downloaded archive to your blog folder. Then run https://www.flat-out.eu/blog/wp-admin/install.php

Hi again sorry about the delay in getting back to you on this, I’ve been out most of the day.

Right I’ve installed everything again did the https://www.flat-out.eu/blog/wp-admin/install.php thing and I got a screen pop up saying WordPress had installed ok

So in all of my joy and happyness I start uploading things again, I upload a image, check in gallery and its there, I then try to insert it into a post and it’s not having any of it, I then try to copy and paste the url’s thats linked to the image in gallery and they dont work either, I also try and copy and paste an image directly from my photobucket account with the [img] insertimage here[/img] tags and it still dont work

    ??

I forgot to mention I am getting this error when I try to upload an avatar

Warning: Missing argument 5 for bp_core_fetch_avatar_filter() in /var/www/vhosts/flat-out.eu/httpdocs/Blog/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/bp-core-avatars.php on line 479

I then try to insert it into a post and it’s not having any of it

What happens? Or what doesn’t happen?

The error immediately above is directly related to the buddypress plugin. I don’t think it’s related to your other image issue.

What happens is when I try to insert an image, the outline or shape of the image will appear in the post but the actual image itself will not, the outline will however have two icons on the top left of it though, one with a little red cross which when clicked will make the image outline disappear.

Check your uploads path in Settings -> Media.
