    hello,
I installed this cool plugin and I’m crashing for the Google API.

It doesn’t work (I watched the explanation video).

Is it mandatory to use our own API key ?

With google everything is complicated, the procedure is boring and complicated to follow.
Without this key, everything works great. When I provide information:Client ID, Client secret and Redirect URL, I no longer have any statistics.

I wanted to switch to the paid version of the plugion but it bothers me.
If google penalizes sites that do not use their own API key.

  • Hi @zepolo

We have a default (our own) API keys setup in the plugin which fetches stats from Google Analytics. It is a recommendation by Google that each user should use their own API keys. Use your own API key instead of what we have provided, this way you will get dashboard stats updates more frequently and error free.
However, if you decide not to use it you will still be able to get stats.

Here is our updated guide on API keys:
    https://analytify.io/get-client-id-client-secret-developer-api-key-google-developers-console-application/

Make sure you follow this video properly, specially the point where you have to place the redirect URL.

    Cheers!

    Hi,

Thank you the tutorial (updated guide) helps well, it was laborious (too many settings to do).

The video we used is not quite up to date (google has modified setings a little bit)
