• Tried repeatedly and still can’t verify whether this works or not. Is there an amount of time that needs to kick in for it to actually start working?

Using VPN so’s to test my blocked country(ies) I’m finally blocked in NS Edge but not in the other browsers. Making sure, mind you, that the plugin doesn’t recognize my new fake IP (VPN) as the one to be whitelisted.

Then, using my phone’s own network, with VPN, I’m still able to get through. Despite having an IP from a blocked country.

Pretty frustrating not being able to verify whether it works or not.

The above, mind you, is for the sake of temporarily blocking GDPR participating countries.

  • Try to block Denmark (DK), and send the link to me, so I will try for You.
    (I am from DK).

There’s a point where you have to ask what’s up with the developer.

Is the developer still running this plugin or is it abandoned?

There’s a certain amount of time that is wasted in trying to figure out software that is more and more outdated and potentially broken the longer it goes unsupported.

I think the plugin is great and somewhat impressive, but it’s also in dire need of ongoing support.

    What’s THAT status?

Unfortunately there seems to be no way to tell? WordPress seems to be completely without any information about the plugins that are created for their web sites. They don’t keep any sort of ‘official record’ of which plugins are properly maintained ans supported and which (like this one) appear to be abandoned.
The only evidence we seem to have is that the developer no longer responds to any form of communication.

As far as I know there is no mechanism to provide feedback to WordPress and perhaps have them attempt to contact the developer. One would imagine that a plugin developer would be required to have some contact with WordPress at least for security purposes, but I really have no idea how any of this works behind the scenes.

My site remains essentially ‘broken’ in that I can’t do anything to the webs site with the plugin activated without the error message. I’m stuck with deactivating/activating the plugin to continue to leave it (apparently)n working.

No combination of deactivating plugins, remove/reinstall of IP GeoBlock changes anything.
