The problem actually started before I upgraded, and I figured what better time to upgrade since I was having problems anyway. But for some reason as soon as I uploaded the wp-config.php file. It won’t show anything: https://www.fragileheart.com/journal/ prior to uploading wp-config.php I got an error message stating that wordpress could not find the wp-config.php file which means that there’s nothing wrong with wordpress.

I’ve checked passwords/database names, etc and they all correspond. Is there anything else I should be checking for?

Looks like you’re having PHP issues. You don’t have error reporting turned on, or you’d see an error message on this page. You should either check your server error logs or contact your host and have error reporting turned on so you can see what the problem is.

EDIT: did you say you could see things just fine *before* you uploaded the *single* file of wp-config.php?

If so, open up that file in Notepad and delete any extra whitespace line breaks. This includes before and after the <?php and ?> stuff.

Hm… have tried deleted extra whitespace and line breaks. But to no avail. Will try contacting my host next. Thanks!

Also, since it’s trying to download the upgrade script, you might want to ask your host to increase PHP memory from 8M to 16M.

Hi Regina, very nice site (the bit that’s working! ?? )

If you can’t find an easier solution, why don’t you start from scratch; it shouldn’t take that long:

Who is your ISP? Some have extremely easy re-installs of WP – just one click!

Depending on how difficult it is to re-install, you might just want to back up your theme files (if they are bespoke) and the Mysql database for your blog any other specific files.

Then simply re-install WP and set it to run against your existing myssql database. It probably won’t take you any more than an hour and it really should solve the problem.

I just upgraded to WP 2.1.2 and did not have any problems. Probably something just went wrong in your upgrade.

    Good luck

Thanks Cordeliamars – I actually started having problems before I upgraded and decided to upgrade in the process of trying to fix it. I did a complete back-up of my journal and then tried to installing the new version of WP.

Have contacted my host anyway… and am waiting for their enlightenment! lol
