I am the admin for a site and I have set my client up as the editor so she can see just enough Dashboard nav. tabs to do what she needs and no more. When I view the site in the WP admin as the admin, I can readily see the site stats. When I login as my client, I see that there is a tab for Jetpack>Site Stats, but when I try to open this is the message I get:’

You are not a member of this site.

If you have just installed the WordPress.com Stats plugin, this error probably appeared because the API key entered in the plugin belongs to a different WordPress.com user account.

The owner of the API key must visit this site’s stats page to grant access.

There is only one WordPress.com account that I set up for this domain, and it clearly is working to some extent. On the client’s (Editor) backend, I can see Jetpack, Comments, Feedback and Settings>Sharing. But I’m not allowed to see Site Stats.

I don’t understand this. And I have no idea where to find the API key that is mentioned in the error message. Thanks for any guidance.

    Hi!

Log in as Admin, and then go to your Jetpakc page. click on Configure on the Stats module. Then, you will be able to select which roles can see the stats. Check the Editor box, and then click Save Changes. Your Editor should be able to see the stats then!

Thank you, Richard. Actually, the matter had self-corrected (mysteriously). I had already had Editor checked off in the configuration, but for some reason it wasn’t displaying. Then, on a lark, I checked it yesterday and, voila, there it was. I hadn’t made any changes that should have disappeared it or reappeared it. But all is well now.
