Can’t Write To Disk – Image Uploading

When I try to use the upload image function in the admin panel, I get a message “Can’t Write to Disk.” \

I didn’t have a wp-content/uploads folder, so I made an empty folder and ftp’d it to the content folder.

I changed permissions on both the uploads folder and the content folder to 777

So you know, I have searched a lot in the forums, seen a lot of similar posts, but still nothing that helps. I did check the codex.

I called my host (Yahoo) and asked if they could turn safe mode off and they said no.

So, now what? Any ideas? Is there a plugin?

I don’t need to upload a ton of images or videos or whatever, but I’ll need to upload some.
