• Hi all,

Has anyone found a working captcha plugin that works with the p2 theme?

I’ve tried the following which does not work:
    captcha by bestwebsoft
    si captcha

I have tried it with all other plugins disabled and the captcha plugins running by itself.

Googling ‘p2 theme captcha’ , other have mentioned the same issue of not having a captcha work with p2 theme. Has there been any update on this?

    Thanks

  • Hi there,

It’s very possible these types of plugins don’t work well with the P2 theme. I’d recommend getting in touch with the plugin authors for more information about the specific plugins you’re trying out.

Yes, that is in fact the case as I’ve tested it on a clean installation of p2 theme without any other plugin.

Also, other have said the same:

It is doubtful that there is something wrong with all of these plugins when it just seems like it is not working for the p2 theme. It is also doubtful the captcha authors would change their plugin just to make it work for one outlier theme, p2.

But it is worth trying out as there does not seem like there are any other solutions.

To that ends, I should provide the captcha author with some information. One thing I suspect since it is just p2 theme that does not work with these captcha plugin, there must be something different about p2 theme’s comment section that makes it different from other theme’s comment section. Any clue what it is? Or any other reason why p2 theme is incompatible?

    Thanks

Yep, sorry I wasn’t clearer before. I don’t mean there’s a problem with the plugins, just that they might not be created to work with a theme like P2. You can clarify that with the plugin authors, and that’d also be the best way to find out if they have any plans to add support for it. The exact reasons why a particular plugin doesn’t work with the P2 theme would depend on how that plugin is designed.
