• I use bestwebsoft’s Contact Form + Captcha on many websites. Since the last update (or whenever it started saying the author is “wpdevmgr2678” in addition to bestwebsoft), Captcha is no longer integrated on Contact Form. At the top of all my admins it says “Using CAPTCHA for a custom form? Please rename functions…” I haven’t tried doing that yet, but isn’t that why we use plugins – so we don’t have to mess with code? ?? Please make it go back to the way it was!

  • Hi,

Thanks for the heads up. We have taken the plugin on to take it further as bestweb didnt feel they couldnt put the time in.

That being said we havent changed anything yet. For the time being i would suggest updating as Bestweb wanted by renaming the functions but i will ypur request “so we don’t have to mess with code” to the devs hit list to make it as easy as possible in the future.

We have lots of cool ideas on how to make this plugin the best in the market!!

    Thanks

@wpdev2678 All your reply has done is make me even more worried about what is going on with this plugin. You’ve been a member on here for less than 3 weeks and your profile promotes a Search Engine Optimisation service.

I’ve got alarm bells ringing very loudly saying do NOT change the code the way you say.

    Hi,

Sure if you dont want to change the code the way bestsoft want you to you don’t have to, i have asked the dev team to look at taking it back to the previous method.

Our profile is our brand which is a that of a web marketing and development company, i personally would have thought that’s a comfort knowing we are big company with the resources to support the plugin.

At the moment i can only advise on what bestsoft had suggested. Any feedback on parts of the plugin you don’t like are always welcome as we will endeavour to make this the best possible.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Got the same issue since last update.
Contact form isn’t a “custom form” and thus isn’t supposed to need any fonction renaming…
    From bestwebsoft support page :
“Make sure you marked Captcha checkbox on Contact Form settings page. No need to add any code”

Used to work with captcha 4.3.0, doesn’t work any more with captcha 4.3.1

    Same issue here

I also have this problem. Does replacing the captcha plugin with the recaptcha version of the plugin solve the issue? I’m not convinced that it will.

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for the feedback were on the bugs now.

We will be updating shortly with the fixes.

    Thanks for the patients.

Updated. Please let us know if you come accross any issues.

Thanks Jordan, I’ve updated to the new version of captcha, but I see no effect. The captcha still doesn’t output on the frontend contact form. When I am looking at the appearance tab of the Contact Form Pro admin area, I can see the captcha in the preview form as it should be, but when I look at the front end of the site (logged in or out), it doesn’t appear, and there is no indication that it is being written into the source code at all, so it isn’t a display issue.

I’m now running version 4.3.3 of captcha, and version 4.0.7 of contact form pro on WordPress 4.8.1.
    Please help.
    Thanks again!
