Captcha Protect Web Form
-
Excuse me for putting the question here, but I’ve got a little case of Murphy…
Yesterday I upgraded my test site to 2.5 and when I came in this morning at work, I figured I might fool around a little to see if everything also works at work (IE 7, working on a corporate system). Yesterday I noticed that the Captcha Protect Web Form plugin doesn’t function. No matter what I type, I first get a message that the code is wrong (also if it isn’t) and the next try results in a 500 error screen. I just found out that this has nothing to do with 2.5, because on my live site that runs on 2.3.3 has the same problem, so that explains why I get no more comments! I have no idea what causes the problem, but it’ll be something on the Protect Web Form server. Should anybody heard anything, I’d be glad to hear!
Turning off PWF doesn’t sound appealing to me, so I figured I can only switch to Akismet at work (I can’t FTP here). I got myself an API-key, but my system fails to connect to Akismet, so I can’t activate Akismet (argh).
So, I first tried to contact PWF, but of course I use the default password (that I don’t know by heart) AND an emailaddress that I changed somewhere after signing up when I got too much spam! It seems that there’s little that I can do right now (except for deactivating PFW) and I’ll have to spend a day at work knowing that my site malfunctions….
Suggestions are welcome!
