Hello, I have read almost all the posts related to captios, but in the slideshow or basic presentation mode, I can’t get the title, caption or description to appear (any of them would do for me), under the photos. Only one tooltip (alt) appears.
If I click on the image, the lightbox appears (Funcybox, for example) and the description does appear.

Is there a way to show Title / Description in the slideshow under each photo?

    Thanks

    Regards

Hi, I’ll be glad to help.

From Nextgen Gallery > Gallery Setting > Basic thumbnails look for the “Select View” control and choose “caption-view”, this control is also in the “customize display settings” tab at the top when inserting a basic thumbnails gallery.

This will place the captions under each thumbnail.

    Thanks

Hi, thanks a lot for your help, but I mean the BASIC PRESENTATION (Slideshow), not Basic Thumbnails.

In the Slideshow options, the view to select only appears LEGACY: SHOW CAPTURE

I want something like that to appear (or similar): SHOW CAPTURE

    Thanks
    Regards

I am having trouble with this too.

    Admin:
What are the settings for scrollable style gallery (arrow to scroll) that shows the caption under image when you scroll through (NOT stationary under thumbnail)

It used to be that thumbnails would display on page and when you clicking one it opened a pop up “browswer style” display you could arrow through. as you scrolled, the caption (description field) would display UNDER the image.

I have a gallery with 4 images in it, captions are entered in settings under ‘description’. If I use CAPTION.php gallery (new or legacy), it shows 4 thumbnails (lets say 200×100) and the caption runs width of page (like 600 wide). It looks ridiculous. Then when you click on any of the 4 images, it just opens it like its an image / flat in browser – no ability to scroll, no caption listed underneath it. I want the caption to live with the image, because it explains the case study/project.

This used to be a feature and with some update or another, it went away or settings got erased?

I am trying to display my portfolio in a design-friendly way and new NGG styles aren’t helping ??
