Captions don′t work.. Please Help!

Hey, I want to embed videos on my website and use captions as subtitles. But the captions never show.

I′ve been searching my a** off but I didn′t find a tutorial for this purpose.

I did it like this:

-> add external Media
-> put this link in the caption field: https://mywebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/mysubtitles.xml

I also tried to change the shortcode like this:

[jwplayer mediaid=”44″ plugins=”captions-1″ captions.file=”https://mywebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/mysubtitles.xml”%5D

What am i doing wrong? i really need the subtitles to work.
