Captions in Lightbox

    I am new to WordPress. I use the NextGen Gallery.

    I have it set to use one of the Lightbox options. But none of them provide the captions I have associated to the pictures.

    I would like the picture to expand into a Lightbox format that includes the captions.

    I have tried to read the options associated with the PRO version but it doesn’t seem to do this in either version.

    What other options can I consider or am I just not doing things correctly.

    @dougb123 – Aside from the “Highslide” Lightbox Effect, all of the other Lightbox Effects will show the caption (read: image Description) if it exists.

    If you are not seeing the caption it could be a conflict with another Lightbox related plugin.

    PS: We are adding more options to the NextGEN Pro Lightbox to make captions either show by default or not per gallery; currently by default they require a mouse click to show. C.

    Saw this thread on Captions for Nextgen Lightbox Pro. The wife has been asking that the captions appear by default. I see you have this on a plan to do.

    When will this feature be available?

    @elrond532000 & @jrneel – The feature to show the information bar by default (which is where the captions are displayed) will be in the next release of NextGEN Pro … barring any last minute issues we expect to release the next version this week.

    @photocrati – Any word on showing the information bar by default? I’ve been waiting for this feature for a long time now, and put in a request for it directly through the NextGEN Pro support many months ago.

    It’s essential to my clients, and without it we are considering going with a different gallery system. I hope your release is timely! Thank you for making an otherwise awesome plugin.
