Captions not saving

  • I’m frustrated… and don’t know if it is operator error, or a bug in WordPress…

    Have just uploaded over 600 photos… from three different photographers… in three seperate batches (and they’ll be added to three different posts).

    I go to add a caption AFTER all the photos have been uploaded. Seems to “save” with the little icon in the top right corner… add more captions… seems to save… go back check some from 20 images ago… seems to be still be there.

    Go back into the post… edit text in the post etc. go back to check captions and they are GONE.

    Same caption for each photographer… I copy and paste

    Even tried using it with the <br> and to see if that was the cause (but I used that in the past)

    I’m running WordPress 5.7 and using the Classic Editor
