I get a ‘Card expiration date is invalid’ when customers attempt to make purchases. I know the cards are valid and good. PayPal Pro was functioning previously but I haven’t been able to get it to work properly for days. I only use PayPal Pro and credit cards, no other payment types. Any advice on where to look? I have tried to find the answer but nothing I found is applicable.

    thank you for your time

    Hi,

PayPal Pro was functioning previously but I haven’t been able to get it to work properly for days.

Do you know what has changed in your site before this issue started to happen? For example: Did you update a plugin, your theme? Did you install a new plugin?

    Kind regards

no theme update. Woo & PPP updated about a week ago I believe, but I think it’s been working. Most people call orders. I did have an error with a plugin and since disabled it.

when I was having issues with the plugin, I messed with the settings and it’s reasonable that I could have changed something. However I’ve been over them and can’t see it. The settings are fairly simple and I only messed with shipping zones.

The only thing I haven’t tried was I did check ‘Force SSL’ because it was unchecked. I’d forgotten I did that, but it is the only setting I would have altered.I had it in debug mode but that’s off now.

Hi, can you check the server log files? They might reveal some information regarding your issue.

Do you know if your host has made any changes to your server? You might also like to check your PayPal account to see if anything has changed.

    Regards

I do not know of my host has made changes. I wouldn’t know what to look for that would be relevant.

Error logs show nothing regarding paypal.

Debugging mode with paypal doesn’t even keep a log. When you try and put a credit card through, when you hit ‘submit order’, it bounces the viewer back to the top of the page where it displays the CC exp error.

I tried changing the date format from 4 digits to two. I didn’t expect that to work – it didn’t.

My PayPal account seems fine. There are no messages, everything is normal.

I am putting it in Sandbox mode and trying to figure it out, but PayPal Pro isn’t even attempting to process translations. The error (seems to be) at the input level.

thank you for trying to help me with this – it is appreciated. I’m lost over here. ??

payments are accepted in Sandbox mode. PayPal was no help but since the cards aren’t even attempting to process, I did not think they would be.

Hi, what WooCommerce version do you have installed? If you have the latest version, have you tried doing a plugin and theme conflict test? If you haven’t can you do one. Can you disable all plugins except WooCommerce and this one. Then carry out a test and report back.

    Thank you.

I apologize, I dropped the ball on this, things got hectic.

I cannot replicate the problem. In sandbox the cards work. I still had customers phone in orders and I could not get their card to run on the site yet they are valid and ran fine when I manually put them through or brick mortar system.

Yet I have had customers make purchases in the past few days who did not call and obviously they had some issues because their cards failed up to three times before they could get them to pass. This includes customers who have made purchases before so I know they are good.

It’s inconsistent but obviously not a smooth system for the customer. I don’t even know how to test it at this point.
